English Premier League: Arsenal should be able to beat struggling Newcastle

December 29, 2012

myp2p arsenalThe final days of 2012 are quite football-heavy in England and one of the more interesting matches of the schedule will see Arsenal trying to prove their solidity by beating Newcastle, who have been horrible as of late. It remains to be seen whether the performance against Manchester United will help them – after all, they managed to score three goals against the best side in the EPL – or bring them even further down – after all, they put their hearts into that effort and it brought nothing in the end.

Arsenal have their own worries to deal with, but, judging from their most recent performances, they might be getting a bit better overall and the fact that they did not allow a single goal against Reading is certainly a good sign. Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky should be able to return today after missing some of the games due to injuries, but it is not completely clear whether Wenger is going to field them or not. Meanwhile, Newcastle have plenty of injuries and will have to field a fairly weakened side no matter what. The reserve players might see that as a great opportunity to show that they deserve more respect than they are getting, however, so there is no reason to think that all will look gloom for them.

Bet365 think that nothing is going to help them, however, and have priced Arsenal at just 2/5 to win today’s clash. Meanwhile, those who believe that those absences will lead to an open game with plenty of goals can back the Over 3 goals line, which is on offer at just below evens at Pinnacle.
